Features and Benefits Breakthrough Design, Advanced Technology Generac® air-cooled generators offer the most wattage and greatest starting power in their class. The Generac 16 kW can start a 5-ton* and 3-ton A/C unit or two 4-ton units. The 13 kW can start a 4-ton and the 10 kW can start a 3-ton. Quiet-Test™ (16 kW model only) Reduces noise to a whisper by lowering engine speed during the generator’s weekly self-test. The Quiet-Test sound level is comparable to a car at idle and is up to 50% quieter (59 dba) than competitive models. OHVI® Industrial Engine Generac's OHVI® (Overhead Valve Industrial) engines have been specifically designed for generator demands. These engines offer the finest lubrication technology available, providing instantaneous distribution of lubricant to all moving engine parts. They also feature an automotive spin-on oil filter for simplified routine maintenance. Vibration Isolation Standard vibration isolators virtually eliminate transmission of vibration from the unit to the mounting surface. Closed Recovery Cooling System This closed, pressurized system virtually eliminates the introduction of air into the cooling system. Rust and fluid acidity are minimized, resulting in longer engine life. Solid-State Sensing and Starting Control Provides the ultimate in engine protection. The magnetic pickup senses over speed, automatically shuts down the engine, disconnects the starter motor and prevents re-engagement. The system also provides cyclic cranking for improved starting reliability and cranking termination for starter motor protection. Superior Electrical Protection The air-cooled 10, 13 and 16 kW models feature an electronic governor, which maintains steady speed and eliminates voltage drop when loads are applied. This, as well as the automatic voltage regulator, provides a smooth rate of electricity, which is especially important for sensitive electronic devices such as computers. Superior Paint Our textured, powder coat paint process provides consistent coverage and better bonding to seams and exposed edges providing durability and a long-lasting, tough finish. Aluminum Enclosure (optional on 16 kW model – standard on 18 kW model) Generac's 16 kW model is available in an all aluminum enclosure to better withstand the corrosive effects of salt air. This option is especially important for homes in southern and coastal communities. Automatic Exerciser An automatic weekly self test of your system ensures that your generator is in peak operating condition at all times. Automatic Transfer Switch Fully Automatic Operation Generac standby generators continually monitor utility power. When the utility fails, the generator starts and signals the automatic transfer switch to lock out the utility and allow electricity from the generator to power the home. When utility power returns, the automatic transfer switch will lock out power from the generator and restore utility power. The generator will shut itself off and wait for the next power outage. Because it's automatic, you never have to worry about a power outage, even when you're away from home. Convenient Fuel Supply Generac generators operate on natural gas or LP gas service. This Natural gas operation provides you with unlimited run time during extended utility power failures. Maintenance Friendly All Generac air-cooled models feature a hinged top and removable front panel for fast and easy access for maintenance and service. Automatic Safety Shutdowns Automatic safety shutdowns protect the engine and generator in the event of low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, over speed and/or over crank. Sound Attenuated Enclosure Generac air-cooled automatic standby generators feature weather resistant, rodent proof and sound attenuated enclosures as standard equipment. Battery Charger A built-in battery charger ensures that the battery remains at an optimum performance level. RTS Transfer Switch RTS transfer switches are designed to operate with our R-Series Digital Controllers. Available in both single and three-phase versions, these proven, open transition transfer switches are ideal for residential, commercial and light industrial applications. Both standard RTS and service entrance rated transfer switches feature NEMA 3R enclosures for indoor or outdoor use. All standard RTS and distributed load center transfer switches are UL and CUL Listed. Distributed Load Center Switch This 100 amp transfer switch has a pre-wired, integrated load center for simple installation when only selected emergency circuits will be served by the generator. Pre-wired flexible internal conduit and seal tight external conduit provide simple connections all the way from the generator to the 10, 12 or 16 circuit transfer switch. Service Entrance Rated Switch RTS service entrance rated transfer switches are available in 100, 200 and 400 amp single-phase models. Our service entrance rated models include an integrated main breaker that eliminates the need for a separate service disconnect when backing up all of the electrical loads in a building. The switches are UL 1008 listed with UL rated circuit breakers on both the utility and generator side of the transfer contactor for full downstream protection. HTS Transfer Switch The Generac HTS transfer switch is a "smart switch" designed to operate in conjunction with the PowerManager® H-100 controller. HTS switches have a 2-wire RS485 communication link to the controller. Utility voltage and phasing are monitored by the HTS switch along with signal before transfer timing, time delay neutral and in phase transfer. All timers and voltage set points are remotely programmable via GenLink® communications software. External LED displays on the outside of the door show the switch position, indicate when the generator is operating and whether or not the utility is available. An external, 3-position test switch allows testing in either normal or fast mode without opening the cabinet. HTS transfer switches are available in 100 to 2600 amp models with a choice of NEMA 1, NEMA 3R or NEMA 12 enclosures and are rated to all classes of loads. |
